As part of our 10 year manufacturer's guarantee of our cast iron radiators and selected radiator valves , your heating system must be installed correctly to UK heating standards, i.e. thoroughly cleaned of any residues and protected using a sufficient amount of an inhibitor solution. Technically all heating systems must be installed in accordance with several key British standards, BS 5449, 1990 BS EN 12828:2003 and BS 7593. 

There are various products available on the market, the Period House Store recommends the Fernox range of products. Their products, like the F1 system protector (inhibitor) and F3 System Cleaner are widely used by heating engineers in the UK and are well know around the world. If you are unsure whether your heating system has been treated correctly or whether there is sufficient levels of inhibitor, Fernox's System Health Checker is a quick and easy way to analyse the quality of the water in your system. The water samples provided are analysed by the Fernox laboratory and a report is send to you for your records. Fernox's technical team are also willing to discuss with you the result of the analysis and explain if any treatment is necessary.
